WHAT IS FIRECRACKER ART?  

                          Firecracker Art is, just that, painting with firecrackers.

     According to the Guinness Book of World Records claim ID# 231754 Otok Ben-Hvar is America's first and only Firecracker Artist painting with firecrackers.

     Ben primarily uses firecrackers, gun powder and pyrotechnic propellants to create art that defies the traditiional method of paint application. After carefully applying and setting about various amounts of colored paints to the fireworks and its surrounding area, Ben lights the fuse and allows his unique materials and form to semi-dictate the design of his artwork. No two paintings are ever alike.

     Merging performance art with abstract 'action' painting, Ben creates etheral paintings. During the explosive performance portion, the carefully set pyrotechnic propellants, firecrackers, paints and materials whiz about the fields of vaarious papers and canvases. After the smoke clears what remains is a one of a kind painting filled with swirls and blasts of color, the motion and energy of the Firecracker Art; is forever captured in a colorful, unconventional atmosphere of streams and unsavoir-faire designs.

     Although firecrackers create fleeting, albeit memorable, visual and auditory experiences , Ben through his Firecracker Art creates artwork that visually embodies the patriotism, freedom and independence every American enjoys.

     Just as special as his Firecracker Art(c) so are his other unconventional art mediums known as Ochrinoptic Art, Potty Art, DNA Art and De la Kremenz Art and his unique form of signing his work. All artworks are numbered and signed by Ben in a blaze of patriotic glory on a miniature, colored American flag. Each clay American flag is completely molded and hand-made by an artist in a process called Millefiori, translated means 1,000 Flowers. This technique was perfected in Venice during the Renaissance.
